Dibus Privacy Policy
In short: Dibus creates no accounts, has no analytics, shows no ads and bundles no third-party SDKs. Your drawings stay on your device and we never receive them. What you type for a magic page is processed by Apple Intelligence, on your device or on Apple's servers (Private Cloud Compute), and it does not go through our servers either. From our website, the app only asks for the pack catalog and its pages. And this website counts visits with no cookies and without storing your IP address.
Who is responsible
SoftApp Solutions LLC, the company that develops and publishes Dibus. For anything related to this policy, write to dibus@softapp.tech. If you are in the European Union, the company's full contact details —legal name, postal address, phone number and email— are published on the Dibus App Store product page, as the Digital Services Act requires.
What data we collect
None that identifies you. Dibus does not ask you to sign up, does not create accounts, includes no analytics or measurement tools, shows no ads and bundles no third-party kits: only Apple's own system frameworks. We do not use the advertising identifier or any other persistent identifier, and we do not track you in Apple's sense of the word. We do not know your name, your email, or what you draw.
There is exactly one thing the app asks our website for, and we spell it out in the next section because we would rather you read it than discover it. Magic pages and purchases go through Apple, and we cover them further down too.
When the app connects to the internet
On launch, Dibus downloads a file from dibus.softapp.tech listing the available packs, and downloads the packs' pages when they appear on screen or when you open them. It is a request like any web page's: it carries no name, no email, no device identifier, and no code that could tell you apart from anyone else. We send no cookies, we do not stamp the app with an installation number, and we build no profiles.
As with any connection, the server unavoidably sees the IP address the device connects from, along with technical details such as the date and the kind of request. This site is hosted on GitHub Pages (Microsoft) behind Cloudflare, and both providers keep technical logs for short periods so they can serve the content and protect it from attacks. We do not download those logs, we do not cross-reference them with anything, and we do not use them to identify anyone. The legal basis for that minimal processing is our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and the infrastructure secure (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
If you would rather the app connected to nothing at all, use it in airplane mode: the pages bundled with the app, your drawings and every coloring tool work offline. Purchases do need a connection, and so do magic pages, except when Apple generates them on the device itself.
Magic pages
When you describe a page (“an astronaut seahorse”), Dibus asks Apple Intelligence for it through Image Playground, which is part of the operating system. Depending on your device and iOS version, Apple generates the image on the device itself or on Private Cloud Compute, Apple's infrastructure built for this purpose; from iOS 27 on, always on Private Cloud Compute. In that case your description leaves the device for Apple, and Apple states that the data processed there is not stored or made accessible to Apple.
What matters here: that text never reaches SoftApp servers or any third-party artificial intelligence. Dibus uses no OpenAI, no Google, no other AI provider: only the system's own. When Dibus opens the Image Playground window, it only offers Apple's styles; the ChatGPT option does not appear. The resulting page stays on your device. What Apple does with the request is explained on its Apple Intelligence & Privacy page and in Apple's privacy policy.
Ideas go through Apple Intelligence's content filters. If an idea is not appropriate, the page simply is not generated and the app suggests trying something else.
Your drawings
They are saved only on your device, in the app's private folder. SoftApp cannot see or access them. In this version they do not sync to iCloud. They stay until you delete them —press and hold a drawing and choose Delete, or open Dibus Settings and tap “Delete all drawings”— or until you uninstall the app, which takes them with it. If you have your device's iCloud backup switched on, that backup may include them; Apple handles that and you control it from iOS Settings.
If you save a drawing to Photos, the app first asks for permission to add images only, not to see your library. The drawing goes into your library and, from that point on, your iCloud settings are in charge, not ours. If you share or print it, it goes wherever you choose.
Purchases
In-app purchases —the page packs— are handled by Apple through the App Store. SoftApp receives no payment data: no cards, no addresses, no buyer identity. All we get from Apple are aggregated sales reports (how many units, in which country), with no identifiable person behind them. Restoring purchases and Family Sharing are also handled by Apple, under its own privacy policy.
This website
This website uses no cookies and no third-party analytics tools. It has its own visit counter: when you open a page, your browser tells softmetrics.softapp.tech, a server of ours, that a page on dibus.softapp.tech was viewed (at most, with its language) and whether it is the first one of this visit. So the same visit is not counted twice, the browser keeps a mark in its session storage, which clears itself when you close the tab. On the server, all that happens is that the day's totals go up by one: we do not store your IP address or anything that could recognize you. That notice goes through Cloudflare, like the rest of the site.
Children
Dibus is rated 4+ and is meant for kids and grown-ups alike. It is not in the App Store Kids Category because it includes in-app purchases and links to this website, so an adult should set the device up before handing it to a child.
The essential point is simple: we collect no personal data from anyone, and therefore none from children. There is no sign-up, no profile, no advertising, no chat, and no way for a child to contact strangers from the app. We designed Dibus not to process data, which is the safest way to respect children's privacy rules such as COPPA in the United States, the GDPR and, in Spain, Organic Law 3/2018.
One thing worth knowing: what a child types for a magic page leaves the device for Apple when the image is generated on Private Cloud Compute, as explained above. It does not reach us, but it is better not to type a name or other personal details there.
If you are a parent or guardian and want to control spending, turn on “Ask to Buy” and Screen Time in iOS Settings. In Screen Time, under content and privacy restrictions, you can also block image creation with Apple Intelligence if you would rather they did not use magic pages. And if you ever suspect we may have received a child's data, write to us: we will check and delete it.
Your rights
If you are in the European Union or the European Economic Area, the GDPR gives you the right to access your data, rectify it, erase it, restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Write to dibus@softapp.tech and we will answer within one month at the latest.
With Dibus the answer will almost always be the same, and it is good news: we hold no data of yours to look up, correct or delete. Our providers' technical logs are not tied to your name and we cannot link them to a specific person, so we could not identify you from them either (Article 11 GDPR). Your drawings and pages are yours to delete from the app itself, whenever you like, without asking us.
There is no consent to withdraw, because the app never asks for any: there is no analytics or advertising to accept. The “save to Photos” permission can be withdrawn at any time in iOS Settings > Apps > Dibus.
If you think we are getting this wrong, you can lodge a complaint with your country's supervisory authority. In Spain that is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es).
Where data is processed
SoftApp Solutions LLC is incorporated in the United States. The providers hosting this site and the pack catalog, Cloudflare and GitHub (Microsoft), are also US companies and serve the content from servers around the world, the European Union included. Any international transfers that occur are covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, to which both providers are certified. Worth repeating: the only thing that can travel through those providers are technical connection logs — never your drawings or what you type. What you type for a magic page, if it leaves the device, goes to Apple, as explained under “Magic pages”.
How long data is kept
On our side, nothing: we store no personal data, so there is no retention period to apply. Technical connection logs are kept by Cloudflare and GitHub for short periods under their own policies, and we hold no copy of them. The website's visit totals identify no one. Your drawings last on your device for exactly as long as you decide.
Selling or sharing data
We do not sell, share or hand over data to anyone: not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to artificial intelligence services. Simply because we have none: what you type for a magic page goes from your device to Apple Intelligence, as described above, without passing through us. There is no “sale” or “sharing” of personal information in the sense of California privacy law or any other.
Changes to this policy
If it ever changed, we would publish the new version here with its date, and if the change were significant we would say so inside the app too. The plan is for it to change very little.
